1 of 10 Why God might delay our blessings
Jeremiah
29:11
11For
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts
of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
“The
opening verse should forever answer the title question that I have
heard so many times throughout my life from both believer and
nonbeliever facing adversity of one kind or another.
God
holds no hatred or animosity toward mankind, or any individual man,
woman or child, despite the perception held by those asking this
question of themselves when the question should always be, What does
God Hate so much that we do not see His Love for us?”
Wayfaring
Stranger (Pastor Charles McCoy)
In
our ten series lesson on lack if receiving God’s blessings, this
will be addressed. It is fitting and proper that we refer to a
statement given by a man of god near to my heart by the identity of
‘Wayfaring Stranger.”
Lesson
Number 1 of
10. You
haven’t asked for the blessing.
Many
times we get disgruntled at God because He hasn’t provided for us
when we haven’t taken the time to ask Him for what we specifically
need? We
struggle along trying to solve our problem situation elements under
our own power and ingenuity. More
often than not, things worsen under our self applied efforts. Being
all wise, does God not know our troubles and trials. Sure,
God knows our needs. But, as
he walked in relationship with Adam and Eve in the garden, He
wants a personal
relationship
with us. He
desires that we
come to Him, in faith,
and ask for what we need. God
wants us to state our praise and loyalty and describe our dilemma.
After all, this is our daily task if we Love Him. We share time with
those we love and God is no exception. If we want God’s attention
we must call on Him.
Scripture
says, “You
do not have because you do not ask God”
(James
4:2).
And Jesus told his followers: “Until
now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will
receive, and your joy will be complete”
(John
16:24).
Start asking specifically and see what God wants to teach you about
asking, trusting, and being thankful. Know
God know peace. Amen 10-18-19
