A Giving Heart

A GIVING HEART “ Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.” (1 Chronicles 29:9) Israel’s people brought gifts for the construction of the holy temple in Jerusalem, it is mentioned no less than six times in this chapter that their offerings were willing offerings. In fact, they were not only willing but it also brought rejoicing in their hearts. They were building a worship house. It was a sacred place, a place belonging to all who would come to worship. Joyful giving is not the usual response to a fundraising effort for a religious cause by modern church leaders. The parishioners follow the attitude of their chosen pastors and often the pastor tickles their ears to encourage giving. The great proliferation of solicitation of money today by media broadcast has developed a growing cynicism in Christians toward all tithing. Further, misuse of col

Leviathan

Leviathan “ Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? . . . None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?” ( Job 41:1 , 10) I venture to say that you never heard this word even though you may have read over it many times. Located in the book of Job, l eviathan referred to a large and fierce marine animal and may be the source for the dragon stories. I suspect that it was the devil himself in his dragon form. Real or imaginary, Job recognized its power. God uses a whole chapter to describe this creature! It had limbs, power, and graceful proportions. It also had teeth in the “doors of his face” that were “terrible round about.” The leviathan had scales fitted so close together “that no air can come between them.” Reference verses: Job 41:1 ‘ Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?’ Psalms 74:14 ‘ Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat t

Abiding Spirit

Abiding Spirit “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” ( John 15:7 ) T o abide is to accept or act in accordance with (a rule, decision, or recommendation). It is not necessary to participate in situations that you are “ p utting up with” but silently standing and patiently waiting for the circumstances to change. They will change if you give them to God. Jesus here said that if we would abide by his decision, commandments and His Word, He will hear our prayers and will answer. If the fruit of the holy spirit abides in us, our obedience to these that principles keep us abiding in the Lord. We are to comply with many concepts: obey the word of God, Look and listen, o bserve proper growth methods and witnessing, follow in Jesus footsteps, keep to the

Loss

Loss There are a few things certain in this life. The good bad, beautiful and ugly will all suffer loss. Their gain often times will be far greater than their loss. Faith in Christ Jesus our Lord is a sure way to obtain peace of mind, a glad heart and looking for better things to come. We have hope and salvation through the great creator of all things. He is in contron. He is Love and maketh us to love. He fills the voids of our losses. He restores our souls and He is Omani-present. Genesis 31:39  “ That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night. 1 Corinthians 3:15 “ If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Philippians 3:7  “ But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.” [ Philippians 3:8 ]   “ Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency

No Resurrection of the Dead

No Resurrection of the Dead? Acts 24:21 “ ... Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.” 1 Corinthians 15: 13 “ But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then  is  our preaching vain, and your faith  is  also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith  is  vain; ye are yet in your sins.18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Peter 1:3 “ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us a
