Food For Thought
Food for Thought
Often times speakers will pronounce this old adage “food for thought.” Food for thought means anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking intellectual nourishment. As herein placed, it means something that warrants serious consideration. Applied to Christian thinking, it has a profound impact on one’s mental stability and growth in spiritual love. “Our ‘food for thought,’ God gave us in his word. Many today dwell on the troubles of this life with their many threats and death dealing diseases. Caution is necessary and is not counter to the ‘Food for thought’ that God would have us consider.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. [1 Peter 4:12] “12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
2 Corinthians 10:4 “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
- 1 Corinthians 10:9 “Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”
- Clearly, God places all things before us for our choosing. Moreover, He defines what our choices should be and not what must be. It is not Gods will that any should suffer diseases. COVID-19 cannot penetrate God’s love barrier but it sure can invade the unmasked. It was the mask of blood that spared the children in Egypt from the angel of death. Anyone who choses to boldly stand in the face of destruction unafraid brings peril to their friends and family. Know God, know peace. Amen 08-18-2020 BLL
