Be Fruitful

Be “ Fruitful in Every Good Work” “ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” ( Colossians 1:10 ) An old adage relates that Children of God are to talk the talk and walk the walk. Letting Christs light shine always to Glorify Him. There are many admonitions in Scripture instructing all children of God maintain a lifestyle that reflects the holy character of the Savior; our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It may be significant that God saw fit to only have written this phrase “walk worthy” appears only three times in the New Testament: once in our text today; once in Ephesians 4:1 , where we are asked to “walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called”; and once in 1 Thessalonians 2:12 , where we are admonished to “walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.” Paul’s instance to the church at Colossae was for the members to act, talk and live t

SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD Revelation 4:5 “ And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.” Revelation 1:20 “The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. Last Farewell

LAST FAREWELL Think it not strange that those we love depart this life forever. The Holy Spirit moves out because His host has completed the work assignment. It is not uncommon that we feel we gave no proper farewell. There will not be another opportunity once eyes close in death. Thus we mourn. It has been so since God’s sanction on the forbidden fruit brought sis and sin produces death. We all have sinned. We all die. God tols Adam: ( Genesis 2:17 ) “ B ut of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 35:29 “ And Isaac gave up the ghost , and died , and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.” On and on the procession marches from the cradle to the grave moves wit hout a break in the line. There are godly expectations assigned along the way. We live, we die: “ ... and he died...”, “

Peter 1:19-21 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. We hear the gospel expounded and often let it slip away to where the stars dwell. Though the stars are exceedingly bright, as God made them, they live in a darkness man cannot comprehend. We ought not push the word of God away in order to accomplish other earthly happ
