Ray of Light

Ray of Light The adage “behind ever cloud shines a ray of sun light” is true. Clouds may appear so dark and black they wipe out shadows and turn day to night. Clouds that you fall asleep beneath will move from over you in due time. There is no lasting darkness in the life of God’s children. John 1: 1 “ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  ( 3 ) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”   John 3:21 “... he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 8:12  “ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Matthew 4:16  “ The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death l

Sad Story

Sad Story If God permits us to live very long, there will be sad, often horrendous, occurrences in life. These are to be expected and dealt with as they appear. On an outing, Donald R. and I, as smal l boys lived in a rural area of Scott County. We roamed the hills and valleys in our time just as American Indians did in theirs. On one outing we passed near an old abandoned barn. Hearing an unfamiliar noise coming from inside, we went to investigate. To our childish eyes appeared what was left of a bay horse. Locked in a stall, it was emaciated and dehydrated. Having been without food for a very long time, it had eaten the edges off all the boards around the stall. Too weak and frail to resist, it stood for haltering. We opened the door and out it staggered; swaying from side to side as if about to topple over at any minute. It wobbled to a nearby stream and drank its fill. On the trip back to the stall it nibbled grass. We were afraid of being discovered meddling in an

Word of life

Word of Life “ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” (Philippians 2:16) Some of the presentations concerning God, are easily understood. This cannot be accident al but are clearly revealed through the great turpentine, the Holy Spirit: God. In this case, “the word of life” is only used twice and might be interpreted in various ways without John’s further elaboration : “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life” (1 John 1:1). As stated in Philippians 2: 16 , the concerns the person John as he feels he is affected by doing the work of our Lord Jesus. We Christians are His “ s ons” and “daughters” and are assigned the responsibility of being “lights” (Philippians 2:15) to those in the darkness and ignorance of the devils ‘paradise.’ The light that we shi

Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind Romans 5: 1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Only in a strong inner knowledge that the Lord is in TOTAL control of our lives and environment can we have peace and rest in heart. Our hope lies not in this world but rather in the love of God. He cares for us as a father care for is children. He has us under his cape as a chick covers her chi

Revelation 8

Revelation 8 Luke 12: 49 “I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? We come now to the opening of the seventh seal by the angels. When t he seventh seal was opened There was profound silence in heaven for a space; all was quiet in the church, for whenever the church on earth cries through oppression, that cry reaches up to heaven; or it is a silence of expectation. The seventh seal is opened and seven angels appear with seven trumpets, ready to proclaim the purposes of God. Another angel casts fire on the earth, which produces terrible storms of vengeance. The seven angels prepare to sound their trumpets. Another angel announces greater woes yet awaiting to plague the earth and all inhabitants . The Lord Jesus is the High Priest of the church, having a golden censer, and much incense, full of merit in his own omniscience. Omniscience is the capacity to know everything. It behooves us Christians to learn of Him and keep Hi
