Warmpth and Comfort

Warmth and Comfort

The little Ford Ranger hummed, what seemed to to be, some old gospel song. The heater fan was working overtime. Inside it was cozy and comfortable. Thinking back to that time several years ago, I now believe the little truck was groaning. Outside the snow whizzed past the side windows and smashed into the windshield with ever increasing intensity. This was not going to be a small flurry.

When we made the turn west off of US 23 onto State Rt. 600, the ground was turning a pretty white. As we hummed on, it was obvious that The Valley was in for an accumulation of snow drifts. However, there seemed to be an aurora of warmth and comfort waiting for our arrival.

Arriving at Mom’s house we found what we were expecting. Hot food on the table, cozy warm inside and love unspeakable. We were home and we were glad; the truck resting and me basking in the love and tranquility found only in The Valley.

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”
John 15:26 “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:”
Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
2 Corinthians 1:4 “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Ecclesiastes 4:11 “Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?”
2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;” Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” (but)
1 Thessalonians 4:16 “...the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Corinthians 13:11 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”
Know God, know peace. Amen. 02/20/21 BLL
