Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind

Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”

Only in a strong inner knowledge that the Lord is in TOTAL control of our lives and environment can we have peace and rest in heart. Our hope lies not in this world but rather in the love of God. He cares for us as a father care for is children. He has us under his cape as a chick covers her chicks with her protective wings. When trials befall us, we are to give even more glory to God for its proof that we live and grow in patience. He guides us and strengthens us. We will never bow our heads in shame for we have the hope promised by an all powerful God who cannot lie. He loves us.

We are not loved because we are lovable in any earthly way. Some of us love others in a special way because we look at matters from a human perspective. To God our bodily righteousness is as filthy rags. In other words, in God's view Jesus is the only thing within us to make us desirable to Him. In us there is no good absent the Savior. God is holy, we are unholy. He is just, we are unjust. God is love while we are filled to the brim with hatred, prejudices, malice and all sorts of vile imaginations. If we have not made peace with Him and become His child, we are in rebellion and sin as we stand before Him. Still, he loves us and has loved us.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life" Jn. 3:16

God commends his love to us and in it we take pride and glorify Him. Know God, know peace. Amen
