The Law
The
Law
There
is recorded a
law given of God and revealed
in
the New Testament. The
law cut into stone served, however slack, from Moses until Christ.
But there is a law
even greater and
more
personal significance to the Christian. These
law fulfilled other laws carved and written. (“came
not to
destroy, but to fulfill” the law given
Moses (Matthew
5:17)all
the A sample appears like this:
“Ye
are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ . . . written not
with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of
stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart”
(2
Corinthians 3:3).
It
is an
internal conviction branded
in the heart by the Spirit of God! “This
is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith
the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds
will I write them” (Hebrews
10:16).
This
burning
lettering
of God’s law in our hearts and minds has been accomplished because
Christ came not to
destroy law
and “hath
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us”
(Galatians
3:13).
Now, with the law burned
and branded
in our hearts it
is a permanent association with Christ The Lord.
We
are
now thus made
epistles of God, “known
and read of all men”
(2
Corinthians 3:2),
and it is vital that the writing rule
true and clear through our lives if
we are to “dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
As
concerning the law given Moses, we learn some important facts. While
Moses was in the mount, receiving the law from God, the people grew
weary
of waiting for the return of Moses. Weariness in waiting leads
to many temptations. We
cannot loose faith and stop waiting on the Lord. The
Lord must be waited upon
till he manifests
His will;
wait for Him
though
he tarry.
The
Moses Clan, children of Israel, did
not draw back on account of the cost of their idolatry. They
gave all the valuables they had to mold a golden calf to worship. We,
likewise, must not
begrudge
the expenses of religion, our
Christianity.
Plainly
this
shows, that the law was no more able to make holy, than it was to
justify; by it is the knowledge of sin, but not the cure of sin.
Aaron was set apart by the Divine appointment to the office of the
priesthood; but he must now
declare
himself unworthy of the assignment
of attending at the altar of God. We
must hold fast to the way we first believed. Trust God. Wait on His
decision. While the “jury” is out pray. God will answer in the
bye and bye.
Know
God, know peace. Amen BLL 7-30-19
