Thy will be Done
3/15/19
Matthew 6:9-13 King James Version (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
The "model " prayer, given us by Jesus, repeated daily throughout the world, by many denomination and sect, though seldom examined by those parroting the words is NOT an empty example that is to be followed by congregant, memorized by children and adult alike.
It is exactly the opposite of that emptiness, holding the essence of what SHOULD be in the heart of the one praying.
It is GOD'S will that need be sought, not just daily, but continually by all wishing an audience with the ALMIGHTY.
It is ALL inclusive of the "mundane" and most important priority alike, if that prayer is to be heard by Him.
Too often, our will is substituted in the heart of those mouthing these most precious of words.
HIS will must be sought, blindly and completely in all things that pertain to that which is being asked in prayer.
IT IS HIS blessing, HIS mercy, HIS grace and HIS justice that needs to be asked rather than our own.
Understanding this, in turn, makes it impossible to question the answer given our prayer, dictating the answer of Yes, No, Wait, or seeming silence, as the prayer IS heard by Him...no matter His answer.
Isaiah 55:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
My thanks cannot be more greatly extended for the fact that GOD remains God. and mankind cannot attain to HIS position of decision despite the continuing attempt to do so.
The lie perpetrated on Eve remains loud and vocal as man forgets that it was, and is, a lie.
Means has been given us, though the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ to overcome that lie, and is the only means of assuring that it IS overcome in the lives of men, no matter how educated, no matter how intelligent, no matter how powerful and no matter how popular man my become.
Pray that our justice is aligned with His justice.
Seek alignment of His mercy with our mercy.
Seek that His pleasure in all that transpires is never substituted by our own pleasure in OUR efforts and thoughts.
Understand that HIS Will will be done in accordance with the plan established by Him, no matter how dark and miserable our attempts to place man on His level continues to make this temporary place of abode once we progress beyond that temporal life experienced in the journey to the eternal being made from birth to death.
Christ came to give promise and the joy of that promise.
He has given guidance that is in concert with the Will of the Father that, when followed, makes that journey less arduous than it is when following the guidance given by man that is in contravention to the intent of the Father.
We are, from creation, a creature of choice, a creature stubbornly elevating ourselves without regard to actual place in the Plan established for which we ARE created.
Know that His Love is always at the center of that plan, irrefutably available to those willing to seek HIS will above our own.
My prayer remains that HIS will be done in my life, that it be done in all things that pertain to myself and all my fellow human beings, but in most particular that it be done in the lives of all that I love and hold dear.
I pray for the strength and endurance to continue to seek and promote His will as long as I am allowed to take another breath, and as long as the influence my life holds on any other, I pray that HIS WILL BE DONE!
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
