Lie # 2 Can't work

# 2. Devils Lies "I Am too Unlearned"

No sooner does a lost soul accept God as Lord and Savior than Satan panics and begins a series of tear down techniques that are life long in duration. Early in a Christian life Satan is sure to plant the belief in the new convert’s heart and soul that only those who are in full time ministry, long time active members or on church staff are those qualified by God to work in the church. This embedded thought is often life long and Satan never stops cultivating this “can’t do” attitude. They look up to those having titles and work assignments while discounting the possibility that they are capable of church assignments. They listen to Satan who warns them not to volunteer nor accept any activities within the church. Often this results in “church hopping” or withdrawal from church attendance all together. When God picks a flower he doesn’t allow it to wilt. He has a purpose and a job for ALL of his Saints.
I cannot list the steps or time limits that God chooses to lead chosen ones into service for Christ. I do not know just how or at what pace God equips his sons and daughters for their specific work. I do know that there is a work all can do. God isn’t looking for who prays the most eloquent prayers, he doesn’t pit our testimonies next to each other to pick the best one, he isn’t looking at our lives to see who is serving in the most ministries. He qualifies you when He saves you. You are ready to open your arms and accept your assignment. You are qualified because you are His child.
Take time to read 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him…”. Also in Luke 11:13: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” There are examples throughout the Bible, where God assigned and people doubted their ability. When God called Gideon and Moses to their respective missions, they both had concerns about whether they were qualified to do what God was requiring of them. However, after some discussion, they chose to give an obedient ‘Yes’ to God. God is already well aware that we will feel that we cannot fit into the equation. Still, in the end, God’s Children become willingly obedient.
We should learn that few of us were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called us. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important (1 Corinthians 1:26-28). “26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:” Know God, know peace. Amen Bll 03-24-2019
