Come to Him Now the Wayfarer 11/8/15

Come to Him Now
Come to Him Now
A long time
ago, on a long dark night,
Jesus knelt
and prayed in the moon’s waning light.
While the
apostles slept, they had not a clue,
Still he
prayed on, for them, me and you.
He sits on
His throne, with tears in his eyes,
Waiting for those
who will not deny
Each knee
will bow, Each tongue will confess,
Jesus my
Savior demands nothing less.
Beaten and
scorned He stood in the gate,
The trial
was on by a world full of hate,
He spoke not
a word, though it meant his life,
Because of
the love He refused to deny.
The cross
that he bore was heavy and high,
They stood
there below with scorn in their eyes.
As they hung
Him there, with hearts that refused,
He prayed
Father forgive them, they know not what they do.
Now someday
soon his return is near,
He’s coming
as King, and His intent is clear
That’s why
the day no delay will allow,
That’s why I
say, Come to him now
