# 7 Be who you are
Devil’s lie # 7. You’ll never be as good as they are!
In
today’s fast paced society, it is not uncommon to discover church
going people pushed down by Satan’s lies. Church workers are
becoming mundane and sedate. They have believed the lie. Just as
Jesus was taken to a high place by Satan to view the kingdoms of the
world as a temptation to sin and rule the vast number of devil
worshipers, we too are tempted. Satan carries up, if we weaken and
faith diminishes, to a high place to show us his churches. They are
large and growing. Ready to “burst at the seams,” they offer
great social events set in a mild atmosphere designed to draw in and
keep worried Christians from speaking the full truth of salvation..
Numbers talk. In a culture of church/social media, comparison has
been at its worst. We now see the lives of others through our
screens. Through stories and posts we find out about the pretty
details of these flourishing and Satan encourages us to follow after
them. Often the smaller “true gospel’ churches become common
place and the lie of the devil drives them toward the larger more
entertaining groups. They feel proud and boastful. They stay and
encourage other to attend this church that has all the right
programs, facilities and social fellowship.
However,
there is a devils trap lie that they are prone to succumb to when
they behold Satan’s fake church front for too long. They begin to
view their lives through the lens of that falsehood and begin to
believe they see huge inconsistencies in the old church group and in
fact in their own life. Satan will glorify the results of someone’s
hustle from truth to insanity. He slid them easily into the trap on
happy anonymity and social acceptance. As Satan promised Christ the
kingdoms of the world, he promised these fallen children of God
notoriety and fame. They have bragging rights. Possess a large
beautiful buildings, indoor pools, day care playgrounds with sitters,
inside gym, thousand of dollars intake and unlimited talent drawing
power for relaxing shows. Christ may be mentioned but His salvation
plan is smoothed over like jam on toast. We idolize posts of
glamorous lives, great numbers coming to the altar popping their
bubble gum, and professions of meeting Christ. Yet they lack the
truth and soon wander back to the church where they silently try to
regain their old poor but honest spiritual feeling or back under the
devils lies. They fight for survival while having no clue about
personal demons and trials they are dealing with.
When
we begin to look at the outer appearance of large, apparent
successful churches and compare them to our humble, God fearing
church group the comparison is a distraction to rob us of being our
true selves. A building with its people should never determine who
you are, but who you are will determine how you use that God’s
sanctuary. You are enough when you give God your all. What you have
to offer is enough. You, as a child of God, is situate according to
His will. Live in it contentment...”rejoice in it.” You don’t
have to follow Satan’s lies to fit in. You can be yourself and that
will be sufficient for God’s purpose for your life. After all He
created you just as He wanted you to be and He will move you where
and how it pleases Him.
Don’t
let a devil lied copy of you rob the world of the original Godly
version of you. We are all called according to His purposes. We all
have a destiny that God wants to work in us and through us. We must
accept it to prosper in the Lord. Know God, know peace. Amen.
