The Life is More than Meat...the Wayfarer 11/29/15
The Life is More than Meat
11/29/15
11/29/15
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye
shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than
raiment.
(Luke 12:22 &23)
Life is indeed more than meat, food,
clothing and the things that are constantly demanding the attention of the
physical, carnal man, whose concern for himself and those he considers his own,
all too often revolve.
Life also consists of the inner
being, the soul of that man, and those he considers his own, and all others as
well with whom he is in contact in the process of what is called living.
It is that very essence of life,
that eternal soul that holds preeminence and prominence above all physical “needs”.
The necessity of a warm coat to
stave off the chill of the winter’s cold is undeniably important, without it
the physical body, first suffers discomfort, and if not warmed will eventually
succumb to the temperatures that it is not able to overcome through the natural
generation of body heat, and die.
The same applies to food. Without
food, hunger pains eventually become numbness followed by starvation as the
body burns its own fat, then muscle to sustain itself eventually dying because
of a lack of sustenance.
Both of these things occur to the
PHYSICAL body, but neither of these extinguishes the life that exists within
that body that is called the soul, the essence of the being created by God in His
image, intended for an eternal existence that is either life, or death, yet not
in the temporary frame of time as seen through the physical eyes of that being
called man, but in the eternal frame of an eternity; where time does not and
cannot exist; seen only through the eyes of God Himself and, eventually,
through the Spiritual eyes of His creation, the soul of the man who has for a
short time inhabited that physical body.
The opening verses of this scripture
could not be clearer in meaning to any who would prefer to concern themselves
with the here and now, and defer concerns about that soul until forced to face
the fact of its existence.
(Luke 12:1-5)
1 In
the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of
people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his
disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;
neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be
heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall
be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that
kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which
after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear
him.
Fear not them that can kill the
body! That body, in and of itself is not life. This portion of the statement
alone should give resolve and purpose to where attention and care should be
placed by this vain and fragile creature that thinks itself to great and
powerful, and is merely a speck of dust that has been granted an existence by
an omnipotent and omniscient God.
That first portion of the statement
that was given, was followed by the remainder of the warning, given by a
Savior, my Savior, that there is something that needs to be feared, both for
ourselves and our progeny, as well as all others of our paltry kind.
Fear should be placed on forgetting
that the body is temporary, the soul eternal, and succumbing to the lies of the
one who would most willingly have us cast into the hell to face eternal death
instead of eternal life.
The passage continues with the
reminder of the importance of each and every soul, not just a few well known
and respected members of a society bent on making their own importance greater
than that of other men, also created by that same creator, from the same dust,
for the same purpose… in total equality without respect to fortune, fame or any
other distraction that can be placed in the way of what is intended by that
Creator, and assured us by His Son Christ Jesus!
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one
of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before
men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before
the angels of God.
10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man,
it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost
it shall not be forgiven.
(Luke 12:6-10)
Just as all physical needs are seen
by both ourselves and God, so are the spiritual needs seen by God, and should
also be recognized by us to be the greater of the two, the first requiring
attention, not the last!
We are not to fear mankind!
We are not to fear physical death!
The concern and emphasis should and
must be placed on the life, the soul which is the essence of that life within this puny vessel, not the vessel itself!
Jesus went on to say that those who
confess him as WHO HE IS, THE LIVING SON OF GOD, will be known by the very
angels of God.
Those who refuse to confess HIM as
savior, as WHO HE IS, those who deny him and all that he taught us, will be
denied, before those same angels!
The time has come when denial is
rife, when mankind attempts constantly and futilely to deny the existence of
God, His Son and the Holy Spirit, attempts to relegate them to the past and the
need for them to the past as well.
The concentration is only on the
relevancy of man and man’s laws, and man’s concerns.
Jesus told us to disregard those
concerns, that end of things is covered already!
Too often the warning given here
goes unheeded, the parable that follow are unheeded, the reminder of where
concern belongs is unheeded.
The lies being told by the deceiver
who wishes only death and destruction are taken as truths, and the truth is
denied.
Those lies begin small, easily
believed by those wanting desperately to believe them even though the truth is
so readily apparent… just as it was to Eve in the Garden of Eden when the
whispers began.
The heroin overdose that results in
death most often does not begin with the intent of that overdose.
It most usually does not even begin
with that first usage of that particular drug, but is in fact a culmination of
the same lie that began as a whisper, got steadily louder then became the shout
that initiated the fatal dose taken.
The whisper most usually begins with
the promised euphoria and escape of a lesser drug, a weaker more readily
acquired and more readily accepted thrill being sought in order to somehow
escape the pain of reality and normality.
That pain is most often not real,
either, but exists only in the reality of what is real, the evil that exists
within this world, the concerns and cares that are to be avoided and replaced
by the false reality experienced through the thrill of that euphoria.
The same applies to society, and
each individual within that society.
The whispers begin small,
questioning equality, effort required to be expended just to survive and have
the physical needs satisfied, then rapidly expand to all the wants as well, to
include the denial of the relevance of What and Who the creator is.
The lies grow steadily larger with
each thing that was forbidden leading to another and another until nothing is
forbidden to include the fact that they were ever forbidden to begin with.
Laws are changed, after all they are
men’s laws, susceptible to change with the tides of
group acclamation, majority rule,
majority decision of what is acceptable and what is not.
Direction is given by men who have
both the most to give, and the most to gain by the changes that they apply to
the directions in which nations are led, populations are led, and individuals
within that population is led.
That direction also begins with a
whisper that grows ever closer to a shout that eventually requires truth to be
ignored, and if not ignored to be quashed and silenced whenever possible as
that truth would hinder the purpose of the lie… to steal souls.
After repetitive beating down that
truth, the brainwashing of the masses accomplishes its deadly mission…
eventually bringing death to both man and his societies.
This truth is proven constantly
throughout the rise and fall of the “Great Civilizations” throughout the
history of humanity, beginning with Adam and continuing through today.
Jesus concludes this particular
scripture with the following:
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he
looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in
sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and
prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with
many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of
stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they
will ask the more.
49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if
it be already kindled?
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I
straitened till it be accomplished!
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell
you, Nay; but rather division:
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house
divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son
against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against
the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in
law against her mother in law.
54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise
out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will
be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of
the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is
right?
58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate,
as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him;
lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and
the officer cast thee into prison.
59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast
paid the very last mite.
The truth has been presented… by
Jesus.
The way has been given…..through
Jesus.
The life has been promised… by
Jesus.
Choose the truth of Jesus and life,
or choose the lies given by men and the end that it brings in its place.
Choose to promote the truth… or
continue, through denial, to promote the lie.
Either way, come quickly Lord Jesus!
2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen
the Wayfarer
