Devil's Lie # 10 You have no Authority
Devil’s
lie # 10. "You Lack Authority" (last in this series)
For
thirty-six years, I served The people of Sullivan County, Tennessee
as a law enforcement officer. My last several years of duty was
accomplished as Chief Deputy under the authority of the elected
Sheriff and empowered by state and federal guidelines. A chief is
responsible for directing those functioning beneath their command in
carrying out their responsibilities as sworn officers of the law;
each was one among the many. The chief is responsible for keeping the
peace and commiserate authority is drawn from the sheriff. His or
her authority originate from the citizens of the county and is
framed within the boundaries of state and federal law. He instructed
me in what to do. I realized I had authority to accomplish his
assigned duties. I also knew where that power was seated. I would
have it as long as the Sheriff did not withdraw his authority. Now, I
serve our Lord God Almighty who never withdraws His favor.
Our
Lord Jesus served us while he was here on earth so many years ago.
While here, He only did
as his father instructed him to do; that was
where His authority rested.
When He ascended back
to heaven ALL authority was given to Him both in heaven and in earth.
Matthew 28:18
“And Jesus
came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.” We gain our authority from Him. But, it
has little to do with us and all to the with the one who gives it. We
are only one among the many. All Glory goes to God. But, when
we embrace the father’s authority and
power, we become a
force to be reckoned with. Every time we exercise our authority we
are spreading God’s word
abroad. The power in
the name of Jesus manifests
itself every time we
use His given
authority. The devil
is quite threatened when
we use this authority.
It is inherent in God’s
people and backed by
the Holy Spirit. So, he puts fear and distraction in the hearts of
those seeking
to stifle our
authority which comes from God. Satan
knows that when we take authority, God’s power is revealed: healing
is brought forth, demons flee, souls are set free, lives are healed,
we gain immortality and
the kingdom of God is at hand. It is that same authority that removed
the sting of death and hell.
Our
authority is our earth
bound victory. 1
Corinthians 15:24 “Then
cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God,
even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all
authority and power.” All
power is a statement of totality. There will be nothing that is not
subject to His every thought. Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear
the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes
of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
It
is time for us to break agreements with these labels and lies we’ve
been studying and sort out other devil lies to reform also. He has
used them to wreaked
havoc on our lives for far too long. It is time to declare
God’s given authority over
our lives. Know now
that you are accepted.
You are chosen of God
as His child. You are
seen as having
worth. You are created with purpose. You are what
you are and that is enough for God’s purpose in you. You are not a
dull copy, but you are Tailor Made to suit God. Do His assignment
with authority.

Teaching
us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God
and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14
Who
gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and
purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Know
