# 7 Be who you are

Devil’s lie # 7. You’ll never be as good as they are! In today’s fast paced society, it is not uncommon to discover church going people pushed down by Satan’s lies. Church workers are becoming mundane and sedate. They have believed the lie. Just as Jesus was taken to a high place by Satan to view the kingdoms of the world as a temptation to sin and rule the vast number of devil worshipers, we too are tempted. Satan carries up, if we weaken and faith diminishes, to a high place to show us his churches. They are large and growing. Ready to “burst at the seams,” they offer great social events set in a mild atmosphere designed to draw in and keep worried Christians from speaking the full truth of salvation.. Numbers talk. In a culture of church/social media, comparison has been at its worst. We now see the lives of others through our screens. Through stories and posts we find out about the pretty details of these flourishing and Satan encourages us to follow after them. Often the small

How then shall we escape?...the Wayfarer3/10/16

How then shall we escape? 3/10/16 “How then shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that herd him; God also bearing witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Hebrews 2:3 & 4) As this tiny dirtball turns, and each day on it passes, the same question is asked daily by those I have spoken of before; the innocents, the believers, and unbelievers alike, who see only the influence and ongoing assault by those who follow the dictates of mankind... who is in turn directed, or better stated, misdirected, by Lucifer in to achieve his own ends while he is still allowed to do so. “How can I escape?” “How long Oh Lord?” The answers to these questions, seemingly so elusive are, and have been available from the beginning of the race of mankind. The questions being asked are the wrong ones, when

But there is Forgiveness with Thee Wayfarer

But there is Forgiveness with Thee "Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of  my supplications.. If thou, Lord shouldst mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I Hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities." (Psalm130) There is forgiveness and hope. That forgiveness and hope comes, never from man nor his imaginings and plans, but only through the redemption given by God in return for the required repentance. The light at the end of the tunnel is there for any searching for it. For those who refuse to search, i

Devil's Lie # 6 Tithing

Devils Lie # 6 Tithes I remember a time in my young Christian life when I drove thirty miles to Sunday School. I knew that I had to put something in the offering plate. I debated with the devil and finally settled on five dollars. The Holy spirit was grieved. Luke 18:12 “ I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.” Hebrews 7:9 “ And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.” Mark 12:41-44 41 “ And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing . 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all th

And make straight the paths...the Wayfarer 1/24/15

And Make Straight the Paths “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight the paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but rather let it be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” (Hebrews 12:11-15) Chastisement and rebuke are a necessary part of the love that is demanded of us in the single commandment left us by Christ that is, sadly, neglected, being forgotten to be a part of that very love. Compassion must include correction. That chastisement, too often comes far too late in life, having not been given when it ca
