The Cup

THE CUP 1 Corinthians 11: 24 “... the Lord Jesus the  same  night in which he was betrayed took bread:  24   And when he had given thanks, he brake  it , and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  25  After the same manner also  he took  the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink  it , in remembrance of me.   26   For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.  27   Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink  this  cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  28   But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of  that  bread, and drink of  that  cup. Matthew 26-39 “ And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou  wilt . 40

Almost

ALMOST Almost the entire world has reached critical levels in population density. Scientific studies in mice overpopulation show results in a mass killing of of their own kind. There exists a mental state of self-preservation or just plain “ol ornery attitudes.” Humans seem to operate on the latter. Flea infestation and disease spread rapidly among contains critters in a controlled environment. Applied to Humans, these conditions spurn violence, suicide and flight. When there is no safe ground remaining they turn and strike out at the perceived cause of the malady. Some ask if the apocalypse and the end time really going to soon be the end of the world. Has the battle of Armageddon been fought already or does it wait to begin the apocalypse? These questions seem to be answered in the minds of a few. Others doubt. Bible prophesy lights up a mirage of possibilities as scientist struggle to unravel what God made hidden to them. As I sucked on the tapped end of a large orange,

Evermore

EVER MORE In these days of sorrow, we must ask if these tribulations are for ever more. Well, fore some the answer must be a resounding “yes and even more. For those who believe and accept the Lord Jesus’ blood sacrifice the answer is a reassuring “no.” For them there is coming a day when all troubles and tears will be wiped away. Jesus came as a man from heaven above and walked a path of sorrow that we might be with Him ever more. Sinner, just believe the testimonies, confess your sins to God and ask forgiveness and join those moving toward life ever more. Believers, hold fast to the promises and the goal set before you; therein is hope. Keep the faith and work, work, work! Rev. 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” 1-2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he sa

Wrong Way Home

WRONG WAY HOME   For every thing that we understand there is an opposite. There is a right way and a wrong way for accomplishing all things. Some argue the point of “shades of gray.” Our current issue with Viruses, bacterial infections and maladies have their opposites. This current COVID-19 strain of the corona virus can be controlled but it takes a cooperative effort by the masses. The absolute right way is total isolation; not possible! Step down one is full body suits with space wear helmets and contentious disinfectants. We see doctors and other medical personnel in “bullet proof” masks and disposable over wear while working. Then there are those who wear only a simple mask. Some wear the simple mask only where mandated. Some whenever they are likely to be exposed to microscopic body invaders. Others see shady areas and cover only their mouth. Still others take no precautions. These last two represents “the wrong way home.” Once exposed to the varmint virus, in these two

Hand in Hand

HAND IN HAND “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” ― … “Lord, what fools these mortals be!” ― William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Hand in hand, the pigeons alone heard mumbled. Hand in hand but with our savior.” Top hat laid crooked as wobbly knees rose and the four footed cane pressed into the wind and toward heavens gate. Too many summers had passed.    This COVID-19 cuss preys on the weak; the old and the sick in body. Many victims have no one to hold their hand. But most walk hand in hand with Jesus. They have arrived here from the distant past where God was the author of their joy and giver of life and strength.   M atthew 14:29  “And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.  30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.  31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth  his  hand, and caught him,...”

What's that ye said Lord?

WHAT’S THAT YE SAID LORD?   It seems that too often God’s people do not hear, or do not heed, His instructional voice. Maybe God speaks with the voice of thunder. I have heard mighty winds, seen the fire in heaven and heard the rolling thunder. Destructive and freighting , God is not in the storm speaking. He owns the voices of nature; created them! God will ride through the storm to deliver worthy storm riders from their pearl. He is not known by the worldly in spirit and in truth. He is an invisible God. We see Him but we do not. We both see and hear Him in the speaking entities of creation. He made them all. Often times we hear but do not understand because we do not listen. John 1:10 “ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”   Jesus humbled Himself to the wilds of this world, faced Satan in debate and won, took away the sins of the world and prepared a path to eternal life free to those who believe. We can walk with Him on th

Reach Out

REACH OUT A while back, a man we all know, lost, full of sin and dying, reached out to our lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While life in the “fast lane” had largely gone by, he leaned to his own understanding. Oh! He prayed now and again for his needs and needs of family and friends. Using God as a last resort to gain some level of duty and mental satisfaction Such prayers failed to reach the throne room; God did not hear such late sent prayers of a sinner with no faith. Today, when mysterious diseases, death and troublesome times abound, w ill that be our response. Before first trying every other source of help at our disposal, we should take it to the Lord in prayer. Ultimately, it is H e, working through knowledge and skills of physicians or miraculously, who brings corrections and peace of mind. I do not say to avoid worldly cures; get God involved from the onset. L uke 8: 43 “ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physici

The Mask

THE MASK “ I met a man the other day bent beneath a heavy load. I tipped my hat and cheerfully said, "your  choice of paths are many, its daft to walk this one. He looked at me through the mask I thought I had and replied, “Friend, better outward than inward sad.” W. M. Lawson – The Masks We Wear. Many, many people wear masks today to combat COVID-19. These masks come in many designs and an assortment of colors. They are obvious and often mandated. There are other, less visible masks that we were. Strapped on by life situations, they are designed to hide true feelings of sadness, hate or disillusionment. Some wearers say they have nothing to hide and that their life is an open book. Seldom, if ever. is this true. Rather this is their mask. It began in the garden when Adam and Eve masked themselves in leaves from the face of God. It rages today throughout the world as one of Satan’s biggest deceptions. Men cry peace and there is no peace. Death and disillusionment ab
