How Much Longer Lord

HOW MUCH LONGER LORD

Often I have stood holding the hand of some soul nearing departure into the other worlds. As an officer of the law, I had to coach some into articulating that they knew they were dying. A deathbed confession or statement of a witness or victim is an exception to the “hear say rule” in a court of law. The court recognize the fact that the dying will not lie. To be advisable, the person must realize that death is imminent, make an evidence pertinent statement and then die. As a Christian, the task is more difficult, Two conditions are to be pursued. The dying must be encouraged to come to God for eternal life and to ease their mind by confessing broken laws and die. Job was faced with the similar condition. The thief on the cross cried out to Jesus to save his soul. However close to death one declines, there seems to be a hope of continuing in this molded tent of clay, However, I have been ask by some people on the brink of death to pray for Jesus quick coming to take them home. We must consider those who have laid on the death bed with COVID-19 eating away in their lungs who cried “just a little longer lord” and those who sought from Him the peace, ease and victory in death. Which ever inducement they chose to answer, those left behind mourn. It is natural. It is normal. But, it is useless. No condition of heart of the dead changes. As a tree falls, so shall it lay. Comatose, silent and at peace lay the righteous in the arms of Jesus. The dead in Christ knows nothing. Those dead in unforgivien sin open their eyes again tormented in the scorching flames of hell.
Mark 23: "And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Luke 16:19 "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Get saved, live right and keep faith. Know God, know peace. Amen 07-09-2020 BLL
