Fear Not

FEAR NOT
Our Lord and Savior. after His post resurrection from the dead, announced His presence to the living with “be not afraid, it is I.” Also ministering messengers from God reassured those to whom they appeared “fear not.” If he appeared to us today, He’d have to announce Himself in like manner. We know Him but not as he is. Writers and artists have portrayed Him over many years as beautiful to look upon. (1 John 3:2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”) The Passion of Jesus” portrays most closely his disfigurement. Earlier painters never marred his appearance. Had they done so we would not recognize Him. Before Calvary paintings are not accurate either. Bodily injuries marred His physical features beyond recognition. There is no bible proof that these injuries appeared on his glorified body except for the very needful hands and side piercings. Still, we have become so accustomed to painted images of Our Lord that if He entered our bedroom chambers at midnight he would certainly have to declare, “fear not, it is I.”
Isaiah Chapter 53:2 “...he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:” But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Daniel 10:6 “His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.” (Daniel 10:12)Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel:”
Matthew 14:27 “... Jesus spake unto them, saying...; it is I; be not afraid.”
Mark 6:50 “For they all saw him, and were troubled... (He) saith unto them,... it is I; be not afraid.”
John 6:20 ... It is I; be not afraid. “
Luke 1:30 “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary:..”
Revelation 1:17 “And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
