THECcHURCH PART THREE

T HE CHURCH (PART THREE) The Christian organization began to enlarge in numbers. Clinging to home base, safe and sound, was quickly becoming a ‘no option.” Jesus had clearly instructed that the Love that He shared with the disciples and His followers be given out to all the world. There was a sort of acceptance of the Christian movement and a mild welcoming of their words in many places where they taught. Paul made journeys outward, guided by the holy spirit and preached Jesus Christ. Often he selected worthy companions to accompany him. Though half Jew and half Greek, Timothy was chosen on one occasion and was so well received among the brethren that Paul called his son. Acts 16: 2 Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek. 4 And a s they went th

The Church Part 2

TH E CHURCH PART 2 There was a span of time in which the Christians, who were dispersed from Jerusalem in fear and the converted gentiles. enjoyed a certain amount of freedom in worship and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Primarily, their outreaching was kindled by one Saul of Tarsus. Many Christians fell into his hands as he sought them attempting to annihilate the entire clan of Jesus followers. THE CHURCH (Part One) “ My Church” is a statement that we so often hear among Christians when in conversation. While the meaning is well understood among God’s people, it could be misleading to the unknowing. There are a few who, knowing the truth, deny it and try to ‘own’ the building and congregation of worship. They seem to think that they truly are possessor of the establishment of meetings. We all have, from time to t i me referred to the building and its congregation as “my church” rather than “the group with which I worship.” Spoken with understanding, “my church,” is an acceptable reference to the house of God. However there is a Church to which we Christians all belong. It was a gift to us from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Matthew 16: 5 “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: f
