Passing of Time
PASSING
OF TIMES
- Matthew 5:18 “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
- We are taught that time, as created by God for us, is segmented into periods that have been referred to as ages. God made time to expire at the appointed moment. When it does, all things, as we know them today, will pass away. No one living or dead knows the hour or date of the reaching of the finish line of man’s race to oblivion or live eternal. However all who care to know realizes by the yard markers that it is in sight and we fast approach the end of time’s race. By the time of the coming of our Lord Jesus to the earth, the last segment of time refereed to as the time of the Jews and Mosaic Law was coming to a close. A new and final segment (age) of the Gentiles was being initiated by the marking of the final span of time by Jesus. Those who learned of the certainty of the coming end was anxious to know just when it would occur and what would the effect be upon humankind. They pressed Jesus for an explination.
- Matthew 24: 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.”
Jesus
went as far as was possible for Him to go in revealing the ending of
time. He was guided by a Spirit of wisdom that forbade the giving of
the exact moment of the ending of the old and beginning of the new.
(1
Corinthians 2:11)
“For
what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is
in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of
God.
(Matthew
24:36)
“But
of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only.”
Jesus
needed his disciples to know all that He could reveal. They would
initiate the age of Grace to the Gentiles.
He
further explained: Matthew
5: 11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And
because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for
a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Matthew
5: 32
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet
tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is
nigh: 33
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is
near, even
at the doors. Luke
12: 52
“For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided,
three against two, and two against three. 53 The
father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the
father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the
mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the
daughter in law against her mother in law.” (Daniel
8: 12 )“And
an host was given him
against the daily sacrifice
by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground;
and it practised, and prospered. 13
Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that
certain saint
which spake, How long shall
be
the vision concerning
the daily sacrifice,
and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and
the host to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two
thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be
cleansed.” (Jesus
cleaned it after his “victorious” entry into Jerusalem on, now
called, “Palm Sunday.) 15
And it came to pass, when I, even
I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then,
behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16 And I
heard a man's voice between the
banks of
Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man
to understand the vision. 17
So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and
fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for
at the time of the end shall
be
the vision. 18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep
on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the
last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall
be.”
Time
is fast running.
The age of the Gentiles is rapidly coming to a close.
Keep
watch for signs
of His coming. Keep ready your heart and soul. In a moment and
twinkling of an eye, it will end. At
the end of this age lies the end of time markers. Be ready. Know God,
know peace. Amen. 02-17-2020 BLL
