Foundation
FOUNDATION
- 1 Corinthians 3:11 “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
-
- Born into a world whose foundation was molded from nothing by the mighty hand of God, earthlings struggle to learn of its complexity and build upon its foundation. Establishing, at times, foundations copied erroneously. Now and then some get it right and become, as it were, the children of the most high God. Thee is but one foundation. Made of many building blocks, the chief one is Jesus our Lord. He is the plumb line, the leveler and the corner stone of all foundations that are to be accepted as permanent in the heavens and subject to inherit eternal existence. It is a gift of God. No efforts expended to set a foundation in any other way will long endure. The end of endeavor is destruction. The fall of his efforts are great.
-
- Matthew 7: 26 “And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
-
- Laying the first stone of recognition and following the blueprint of salvation, a stranger becomes a child of God: entitled to build upon the foundation already laid in perfection. That foundation endures. (Hebrews 11:10) "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Rev. 22:26) “And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
-
- 2 Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (Hebrews 6:1) “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,“
- Looking for and waiting upon a dwelling in that city not made by hand. When our earthly temple shall meet its completion and pass away, this building stands eternally. John wrote a description of the city.
- Revelation 4: 3 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
- Hold fast to the precepts that led you to seek a firm foundation. The Word of God is the mortar mix and faith is the cement that holds our earthly foundation in place. Prayer repairs all cracks as they occur. Even so, It can be shaken and broken. But, we have a house in heaven that cannot be shaken or broken. The joy of its sitting is indescribable and everlasting. Know God, know peace. Amen. 02-18-2020 BLL
