Throw out the Life line  5/25/16 Today’s title song is added to the original text of a far older sermon that already says what I feel is also the intent of the song, written by the Rev. E.S. Ufford, and sung in churches I grew up in, seldom heard these days, yet so pertinent to the world in which we live that is so in need of the realization that the lifeline still exists for those who accept the salvation granted by God’s grace in the gift of Christ Jesus This one came about after two conversations with two separate people I consider truly Christian, and who share my concern for the broken ones I reference. His blood avails—   Can save from every sin,   Cleanse you without, within—   Will you not let Him in?     Open the door! “Almost persuaded,” harvest is past! “Almost persuaded,” doom comes at last;   “Almost” cannot avail;   “Almost” is but to fail!   Sad, sad that bitter wail—     “Almost—but lost!” Be now persuaded, oh, sinner, hear! Be now persuaded, Jesus is near;   His voice is pleading still,   Turn now with heart and

(Romans 11:1) "God Bless America" By Irving Berlin While the storm clouds gather far across the sea, let us swear allegiance to a land that's free. Let us all be grateful for a land so fair, as we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. God Bless America, land that I love. Stand beside her and guide her Through the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans white with foam. God Bless America, my home sweet home. God Bless America, my home sweet home. © Copyright 1938, 1939 by Irving Berlin Today’s title comes from the song above, written in the late 1930’s by a prolific   as well as patriotic songwriter so well known throughout the world of music in general.
