Through and Over

THROUGH AND ACROSS

Our American bard Robert Frost, in a poem entitled “Mending Wall,” wrote "Good fences make good neighbours." Sometimes walls separates neighbors and at other times attitudes. Some are real as stone some, shallow as a wisp of fog. Some are made by the hand of man and some by his mind. Some are made by God and have a special design. Robert Frost maintained the belief that: “A poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom.” Some walls keep in and some keep out. Visible or invisible all walls made by man eventually crumble, rust and fall. Mandated walls against COVID-19 are designed to both keep in and keep out the invading corona virus. But, when God opens the gate to any wall in the universe, no man can close it until He gives the okay. In that we can be assured and come to grips with fear knowing that man’s dictates will work in God’s time. The bible speaks of the wall and permanency of time reprieved only by God:
Matthew 16:18 “... I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Deuteronomy 28:52 “And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down,”
Luke 16:26 “...between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”
2 Samuel 22:30 “... by my God have I leaped over a wall.”
Ezekiel 12:2 “Son of man,...Dig thou through the wall...”
Joshua 24:11 “And ye went over Jordan...”
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (11:27) Moses “By faith he forsook Egypt, for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood,...29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land:... 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down,... 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not,... 32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of  Barak, and of  Samson. and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, (27) By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.  29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land:...  30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down... 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not...
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,”
The key to passing over or through crises’ is faith. Walls of disease and disaster cannot be crossed over nor plowed through without the hand of God going before believing people. Know God, know peace. Amen. 07-11-2020 BLL
