Sleep

SLEEP
Sometimes at the midnight hour, the Holy Spirit awakens His workers to perform some godly service. Rarely are these services strenuous as we count strenuous. Most often it is to recognize someone as one of His children. We need not know the why. It might be to send words for a soul not yet born the second time. It could be for anyone. A pastor friend of mine was called awake one rainy night to go witness throughout the community. Naturally he questioned and prayed but when the Holy Spirit persisted, he arose, dressed and went door to door inviting his neighbors to church. I call this man of God my friend and I respect and admire him. He has been an inspiration to me. Some awakenings are simple and not challenging. In between are those just as important. Np matter the why, when God calls, we who know Him, are to answer; yes Lord here am I. Sleep cannot be put before the will of God!

Matthew 1:20 “...that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 “And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.”

Matthew 8:23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. 24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Matthew 26: Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Acts 20:9  “And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.”
1 Thessalonians 5:6  “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 07-18-2020 BLL
