.Lo, I am with you..the Wayfarer 1/14/16

Lo, I am with you (Mathew 28)
 1/14/16

"In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.
And behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled  back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here; for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All Hail.  And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Then saith Jesus unto them Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came int the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Saying Say ye, His disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept.
And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of  the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen"
Matthew 28:1-20)

Just a couple of quick notes for the reader that bear attention:

Jesus told us here, as well as many other places in the scriptures to "Be not afraid!"

Fear would only betray, and deny the trust that must be placed in the only TRUTH, WAY, and LIFE.

Fear and greed went hand in hand both with Judas, who feared the ruling Synod and the Pharisees, and that same body of  scribes and lawyers so often dressed down by the Lord, as he desired their money for the betrayal given them in return.

That same fear applied to the soldiers that were instructed to deny the resurrection providing "plausible deniability" to those governing who feared insurrection.

Their fear of the powers of men, and greed for the rewards of this world given by men are obvious.

Take note that the women were told by none less than the angel of God that "He is risen".

The fact that He IS risen, gives hope, not fear, provides strength, not weakness, gives promise of eternal life for those who believe and condemnation to those refusing to be taught the TRUTH.

Jesus retains ALL power in heaven and earth.

Why should any fear men who wield only the power of mortal death, while He wields the power of ETERNAL LIFE?

No promise ever made by Him has been broken, and none will ever be broken.

His promise is that he will be with us ALWAYS, even to the end of the world, whether that end is for only one of us in mortal death, or whether it is when enough is enough, and He returns to claim what is undeniably His.

Even so, this poor sinner saved by grace through faith retains that promise given by Him through the blood given by Him.
This unworthy yet willing soldier ever in his service, warrior and wayfarer for my Lord can only  ask: Even so come quickly, Lord Jesus!

2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Amen and Amen.
