Fruit of the Holy Spirit – Joy

Brother Donald Harding sings a song with words similar to these: Why won’t my children praise me? I’ve given them everything yet they have no Joy. Why won’t they raise holy hands in praise? Are they afraid someone will see?

No wonder many Christians have lost their joy in the face of this virus laden environment. Many churches are closed. Some open under special rules and conditions. Masked and distanced from one another, those who choose to attend sit mute and hunkered down. They leave the “meetings” feeling no renewed joy. Joy comes only through hope and hope comes by faith. Faith comes from the word of God. But how can they hear without a God sent preacher? The Holy Spirit delivers our joy. The spirit cannot enter a body to bring joy in a heart frozen cold as ice. Take all the fruit of the Holy Spirit and find joy in it.

Matthew 13:20 “...he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;” (2 Corinthians 1:24) “...are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.” (Matthew 25:21) “...enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Luke 6:23 “Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: ...” 1 Thessalonians 1:6 “And ye became followers...of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:”
John 15:10 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” 
Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Peter 1:8 “...though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
1 Peter 4:13 “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”
Jude 1:24 “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

  A GIVING HEART “ Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.” (1 Chronicles 29:9) Israel’s people brought gifts for the construction of the holy temple in Jerusalem, it is mentioned no less than six times in this chapter that their offerings were willing offerings.   Each Day We can only live each day in its time frame. Yesterday, with its ups and downs is passed never to return. Tomorrow is a vision of hope not yet on the horizon. Each day bares its on unique set of events. Some recognizable some masked in ignorance. As we near the dawning of a new day, calling upon the Lord is a necessary activity. If we neglect the creat o r and giver of the new day, we simply cannot have a right spirit. Joy comes in the morning only through God’s book of promises.
