Revelation 8

Revelation 8

Luke 12:49 “I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

We come now to the opening of the seventh seal by the angels. When the seventh seal was opened There was profound silence in heaven for a space; all was quiet in the church, for whenever the church on earth cries through oppression, that cry reaches up to heaven; or it is a silence of expectation.

The seventh seal is opened and seven angels appear with seven trumpets, ready to proclaim the purposes of God. Another angel casts fire on the earth, which produces terrible storms of vengeance. The seven angels prepare to sound their trumpets. Another angel announces greater woes yet awaiting to plague the earth and all inhabitants.

The Lord Jesus is the High Priest of the church, having a golden censer, and much incense, full of merit in his own omniscience. Omniscience is the capacity to know everything. It behooves us Christians to learn of Him and keep His commandments. Study to know the fullness of knowledge and power that is in Christ Jesus; know His omnipresence among us. Christ is our great high priest; our intercessor. Christ has such an office as that of intercessor and mediator. He hears ouur prayers and catoriges them into proper context for delivery unto God the Father.o prayers, thus recommended, was ever denied hearing and acceptance. These prayers, that are accepted in in the throne room, produces great changes upon earth. Our prayers entertained by God initiates some kind of reaction in heaven. His reply, when sent down to earth often conflicts with the passions and worldly projects of sinful men resulting in horrendous tumults. (Luke 12:49.)

At the sounding of the first angel’s trumpet, hail and fire mingled with blood abused the earth. A wave of heresies, a mixture of dreadful errors falling on the church, and a tempest of destruction.

The second angel sounded, and a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea; (The word "sea" is used symbolically in Isaiah 60:5, where it probably means the nations around the Mediterranean.) A third part of the people is being slaughtered because they love God. This mountain may mean the leaders of the Christian persecutions past, present and future. (See: Revelation 1:8}

The third angel sounded, and there fell a star from heaven. Some consider this to be a prominent leader who corrupted the churches of Christ. The doctrines of the gospel proclaims the fullness of spiritual life, comfort, and vigor. The souls of men, are corrupted and made bitter by the mingling of spirits so that the souls of men find ruin where they sought refreshment.

The fourth angel sounded, and darkness fell upon the great lights of heaven; the sun, the moon, and the stars. World leaders are consider themselves instead of their people, and are to dispense light, and kind influences to them. There will come one who declares peace to all. When the gospel of Jesus Christ is fully given to all nations with wholesale rejection, it is followed with dreadful judgments. God reveals penalties in the written word, by ministers, and by the signs of the times; so if some are found unaware, it is their own fault. The anger of God makes all comforts bitter, and even life itself burdensome. But God, sent a Comforter who sets bounds to the most terrible judgments. (2 Thessalonians 2:7)For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” (ruptured with the saints) Before the other three trumpets were sounded, there was solemn warning how terrible the calamities would be that should follow. If lesser judgments do not take effect the church and the world must expect greater; and when God comes to punish the world, the inhabitants shall tremble before him. Let sinners take warning to flee from the wrath to come; let believers learn to value and to be thankful for their privileges; and let them patiently continue in well doing. Amen. Know God, know peace. 02/22/21 BLL
