Last Farewell

LAST FAREWELL

Think it not strange that those we love depart this life forever. The Holy Spirit moves out because His host has completed the work assignment. It is not uncommon that we feel we gave no proper farewell. There will not be another opportunity once eyes close in death. Thus we mourn. It has been so since God’s sanction on the forbidden fruit brought sis and sin produces death. We all have sinned. We all die. God tols Adam:
(Genesis 2:17)But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Genesis 35:29 “And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.”

On and on the procession marches from the cradle to the grave moves without a break in the line. There are godly expectations assigned along the way. We live, we die:
...and he died...”, “and he died...”, and he died “, and he died...”, and he died….” “...and he died...”, “and he died...”, And he died “, and he died...”, and he died….” “...and he died...”, “and he died...”, and he died “, and he died...”, and he died….” You will find this statement hundreds of times listed in God’s word. Between the cradle and deaths door there is an assigned time for us to do all things God has planned for our life..

(Ecclesiastes 3) 1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

When our summons comes to join those nearing deaths door and our work has been satisfactory accomplished in God’s eyes, let’s not take thought of the moment but look ahead to the light. Many will come giving their final farewell. Some will regret that did not arrive in time and some will fear their final farewell was inadequate. To we who are merging with the Holy Ghost and leaving these death traps behind rejoice. There is no condemnation in their spirit concerning the value of departing wishes. The dirt that remains will be planted back from whence it came. But, the life within will be planted with Christ Jesus.

(Romans 6:8-11) 5 “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So then, let your final farewell be timely, proper and sufficient in love. Have no regrets because you procrastinated, hesitated or delayed and missed the final call of a friend or loved one. God expects His children to deliver the satisfactory gift of love right on time. Amen. Know God, know peace. 12-26-2019 BLL
