The Invitation

The Appointment

All know that the older we get the more appointments we incur. Looking back from dotage it seems life consisted primarily of moving from one appointment to another. Some were self initiated, many were not. All were kept or dealt with in some manner. None were ignored completely. Some were forgotten but reminders came. Some were contingent upon certain criteria that had to be realized and adherence is required. Some were open ended and dependent upon our friends and neighbors. One such appointment is with Corona Virus COVID-19. There are many others. To be released from such appointments, safety measures must be practiced by all. If we desire to keep our appointment with these diseases all we need do is ignore safety guidelines and plunge into the pandemic unafraid. There are appointments and invitations on a higher level than those earthbound.

Matthew 28: 10 “Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.”

They had an appointment with Jesus, The time and date was left open. Watching and waiting was necessary. No RSVP was possible. Declination was not an option. When Jesus sends out an invitation for a meeting, He waits with arms spread wide. All will eventually bow before him. Decisions must be made.

Luke 12:37 “Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching:...”

Matthew 25: 13 “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” [Mark 13:33]Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”

1 Peter 4: 7 “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:..9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.”

1 Thessalonians 1:9“...Wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” [Romans 14:11]For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

Christ invited us to come unto Him and get the rest he holds for us. Our final appointment is with death. God set that appointment and we shall appear. Our spiritual dress at that meeting will determine our eternal existence location and condition. Know God, know peace. Amen 08-16-2020 BLL
