Comfort

Comfort

There have been a few setbacks and disappointments during my tenure for our Lord. Events unwanted have brought sorrow and loneliness. With death knocking on life’s door every day all day long, Satan whispers “open the door” but Our Lord urges “just a little bit longer.” There is much work to be done. There’s comfort in God’s Word. Though hampered with pains of nephropathy, active cancer, aching lumbar and chemicals associated with each, wide spread service is difficult in person. There is hope that God can be glorified in the production of His words in song, news media and internet. Thank God for Kingsport Times News for giving a prominent place on the front page of heir paper for the printing of many church leader’s messages. The staff responsible for screening and posting are to be commended and certainly blessed of God. There is comfort in that promise from above.

2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;”
1 Thessalonians 4:18 “
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” [John 14:26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
2 Corinthians 13:11 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”
When COVID-19 comes too close for comfort, remember you have a comforter. Call on Him and He will respond with peace of mind. Know God, know peace. 08-08-2020 BLL
