For Own Good
Lesson number 9 of 10
10. For Your Own Good
Scripture
tells us:
(James
1:16-17).
16
"Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every
perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of
lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
If
you are healthy and secure know that that is coming from God. If you
are suffering and destitute, know that is not from God. God gives his
children good things. But, the things God considers good might not be
what we would consider good; visa-versa. God knows the value of all
things as well as their composition. He knows what the future holds
for us with and without the desire we petition Him to grant. He
cannot and will not grant requests that will work to our
disadvantage.
Psalm
84:10-11
10.
“For
a day in thy courts is
better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of
my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11
For
the LORD God is
a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing
will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
That
shielding aspect of God’s character will
protect
us from whatever
we’re asking God for that isn’t God’s best for us. What
we assume is a blessing, if
not issued of God, most likely is not a
“good thing” for us. And,
It could be denied because of a failure in a number of factors listed
in this ten series lesson; one, a few or all.
Our
faith is of the utmost importance.
Trust God with what you don’t see. Check
your success in keeping yourself redy on all points to be eligible to
receive God’s blessings. Know God, know peace. Amen 10-26-19 BLL
