All You Need is Love

John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Love...definable only to those who both have and give it in return has been memorialized throughout the centuries of the existence of mankind in the verses of his poetry, the songs sung by him, carved into the statuary of his art still remaining the most incomprehensible of words ever spoken to those who neither have, nor give it.

  1. All You Need Is Love

    (Love, love, love)
    (Love, love, love)
    (Love, love, love)
There's nothing you can do that can't be done
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
    It's easy
There's nothing you can make that can't me made
No one you can save that can't be saved
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time
    It's easy
    All you need is love
    All you need is love
All you need is love, love
    Love is all you need
    (Love, love, love)
    (Love, love, love)
    (Love, love, love)
    All you need is love
    All you need is love
All you need is love, love
    Love is all you need
There's nothing you can know that isn't known
Nothing you can see that isn't shown
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
    It's easy
    All you need is love
    All you need is love
All you need is love, love
    Love is all you need
All you need is love, all together now
All you need is love, everybody
All you need is love, love
    Love is all you need
    Love is all you need
    Love is all you need
    Love is all you need
    Songwriters: John Lennon, Paul Mccartney

These lyrics, popularized in the time of my youth attempt to denote both a definition, and the importance of that definition as seen by the writers.

In combination with the melody written that haunts the listener time and again throughout the years after having been heard, it transcends generations in search of that love, still ill defined despite a valiant attempt on the part of the writer to capture its meaning.

Love began before the creation of man with the Creator, in Whom the indefinable is, in fact, defined

It remains a commodity that cannot be bought, but, must be given in order to attain it for oneself.

Wars have been fought on the pretext of this effervescent word that is both a noun and a verb in any language it is spoken.

It is a word that requires effort to be proven for that which it is, yet requiring no effort at all to be received from the one seeking it once it is seen through its own eyes, the eyes of God himself, Who remains the true definition of the word.

Attempts to buy it cheapen that definition, deny that definition as means are sought to pay for something that is the only free thing in existence.

Any who claim that it may be purchased as they seek gain form those who wish to give it also cheapens and denies the very meaning of the word.

The opening verse remains one of the most remembered, yet least comprehended verses of our scriptures intended to convey the meaning of that word through its guidance and truth that has proven itself throughout its existence, and will continue the proof of the definition of love long after this mudball is gone, replaced because of the existence of that four letter word spoken so freely without any comprehension of its true meaning.

Love has requirements, both physical and spiritual that changes viewpoint of what is meant when spoken.

These requirements seem harsh to those who cannot understand, or simply will not accept the truth of those requirements.

That opening verse is continued in the verses that follow explaining mankind's inability to accept that love as long as alternative definitions, other that that given by God are sought and accepted in its stead.

John 3:17-21 King James Version (KJV)

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

As long as men continue to seek the things of this world, and love the darkness that denies the very light of  the love bestowed on us through Christ, love will continue to be sought,  yet remain unobtainable until it is replaced with the wrath that is to be faced  for having denied this small yet all important word, again to be understood, truly understood , by those who heard and heeded the message of its provider to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!
Once more I exhort that love may only be had by those who give it, and may be given only by those who have it and choose it above all else as intended by the Creator.

1 John 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:19 - We love him, because he first loved us.

1 Corinthians 13:4 - Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

John 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

1 John 4:10 - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

Ephesians 2:4 - But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Hebrews 6:10 - For God [is] not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

1 John 4:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

If you would seek love, seek it through the scriptures, seek it where it truly may be found, not in the confines of this world, but, unconfined and in total, in God Himself, seek it through Christ whereby it has been given to those truly seeking it.

We are not and will never be God, but we can and must be the personification of the love He has given us.

Again, this is accomplished only through accepting the message of love given us through Christ, His ministry, teachings, life, death on a cross to remove the darkness from our sight and His resurrection to bring us back to the light of the most necessary commodity ever to exist!

To have love is to give it, to give it is to have it through God alone.

2 Timothy 1:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Amen and Amen!
