Closing a "Blind" Eye
Lesson Number 10 of 10: Final Lesson on Why We Feel neglected of God
10. “Shutting a Blind Eye”
In
local colloquialism, “shutting a blind eye” references the
overlooking of the obvious by choice. God blesses each of us
mightily. To often, we choose not to see or recognize the blessing.
Sometimes Satan will put up a smoke screen to conceal our blessings.
Truth is, we could never thank our Lord for all he has done to bless
us. He is well aware that we will lay the flaw at the foot of the
cross. Never fall for the devils lies. If you do:
“Ye
are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh
of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John
8:44)
When we wander in thought or word away from the millions of blessings
the Lord God has delivered unto us, we ere. Jesus said for us to
believe and work toward a greater reward than this earth has to
offer. (John
4:1)
“Let
not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
God
will provide if we approach the throne room in the proper manner to
receive his blessings.
- Let us consider our “lifetime” and what we perceive as blessings as we live it to an end. What do you consider a Gods blessing? Are we over zealous and demanding? Something financially rewarding? Is it something that makes you happy? The fact that you have life, breath, and someone in your life who loves you are all blessings that He’s given that you may have been taking for granted. Look for others for they are many.
Ephesians
1:3-4
“Blessed
be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with
all spiritual blessings in heavenly places
in Christ: 4
According
as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that
we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
The next 11 verses describe, in detail, our eternal inheritance if we
are trusting in Christ Jesus for our salvation.”
Trust
is the key here.
Don’t
overlook what He has done nor close your eyes to His superior
understanding. Start thanking Him for
all that you have, even what doesn’t appear to be a blessing, and
you may find He has already blessed you far more than you had
realized. Our greatest reward and
eternal blessings are not of this world. “But
lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”
(Matthew
6:20 (KJV) Know God, know peace Amen
