Shadow

Shadow

There are a few things that temporarily block the great light that lights the day. Shadows sometime appear beneath objects lying in its brightness. However, that shadow will never remain still. As the light moves, so moves the darkness. Light presses away shadows and it does so continuously. Man made artificial light may remain stationary and shadows cast by its presence on objects move only if the light or object moves. Otherwise its umbra remains stationary.

As a declaration of respect, it is often said that someone casts a long shadow. Well, trees cast long shadow. Their shadow passes with the moving of the sun. It is not the same statement as one of success that affects many people and situations.

Wherever there is a light there is a shadow. Some shadows are not seen and shun the light. Some express emotional turmoil such as being close in proximity to danger, an ominous situation oppressiveness, or sadness and gloom. Depression is a shadow of the soul cast over the mind of hyper anxious people. The gloominess of an open, empty and waiting grave casts darkness upon one looking into it; waiting. The shadow of death becomes an  inseparable attendant and constant companion to those in waiting. ”Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of desth, I will fear no evil.” (John 3) I have observed, I have heard and I follow someone closely and openly who conquered death and hell. (Colossians 2:17) “Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

Luke 1:76 “And thou (John Baptist), child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Acts 5:14 “...they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.”

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Shadows flee the presence of God.

Know God, know peace. Amen. 03/22/21 BLL
