Humility

Humility

Over in the backwoods of Scott County, humility was a way of life. Now, its more like “root hog or die.” This idiomatic expression for self-reliance lends its carrier to believe that if another has a possession and the self reliant desires to have it, they take it. By “hook or crook” they rob the humble to feed their greed. Striving to obtain by their own labor is a repulsive idea to them. Government subsidies keep them “afloat” while greed feeds their hungering for their neighbors possessions. All that God holds dear to His heart is violated and Satan has a field day. Only the Holy Spirit sustains those who are “unselved” and practicing humility and seclusion. Christ in ones life will instill humility. Christ germinates humility and a recognition of self in relation to a God and subsequent submission to God according to their belief.

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”

Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.”
Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,”
Avoid retaliation and continue the pursuit of contentment and humility in things delivered from our Lord. (Colossians 2:23) Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.”
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”
Acts 20:19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me...”
Jesus set the pace for our Christian walk. Keeping in step with the record of His earthly walk will keep us in step with His humility. Doves, lambs and little children are the examples we have for humbleness. Meek as a dove, gentle as a lamb and pure as little children all set the stage for Christian living. Know God, know peace. Amen. 03/16/21 BLL
