Watered Down

Many times we have seen a truth ‘watered down’ to the point its original intent was diluted into non-existence. It is not infrequent that some beverage or chemical is so strong it must be made weak by adding a catalyst. Water is the most common natural weakener of solutions made too strong. The dilution with water applies to many physical properties. It also applies to statements, political proposals and even the Word of God. Writers and carriers of God’s message sometimes believe that the pure word is too strong doctrine for the congregation to endure. Instead of strengthening the flock they “water down” Gods word to a level of distortion. So altered it becomes weaker in force, content, and value. There may be occasions in the political or worldly arena that watering down is necessary and acceptable; but never in God’s Word!

      So many translations of the word has been produced to “allow easier reading and understanding” that the intent and thrust of God Almighty has become dissolved in the watering down of His promises. Know this: “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:19

Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Every word within the covers of God’s Holy book His intended thrust and man acting outside the Holy Spirits influence cannot alter their meaning and enjoy peace. Know God, know peace. Amen. 03/12/21 BLL

A Giving Heart

  Each Day We can only live each day in its time frame. Yesterday, with its ups and downs is passed never to return. Tomorrow is a vision of hope not yet on the horizon.
