Greetings

Greetings

I hear Christians criticizing others for neglecting to bow in thanks and ask God’s blessing for the food they are consuming. Certainly, thanking God for our food is pleasing to God. Asking Him to put His blessing on the food is wise. It pleases God even more than thanks. Why is this a trend among “Christians today”? Either they do not think it necessary, they are unknowledgable in Godly practices or they are ashamed someone might see or hear. Truth is, these kind don’t even pray over their food even in the seclusion of their own home.

There is a more powerful practice; greetings. Every greeting or parting wish could be a praise, proof of one’s Christianity or witness to a sinner. “Later Alligator, after while crocodile, have a nice day, don’t work too hard,” and many, many more greetings are declared every day without one thought of witnessing for God.

God bless you, God keep you, may God go with you, Jesus loves you, God is Great,” are a few godly hello phrases that both pleases God and witness both to your faith and Christianity. Sometimes a wide smile and a “hallelujah” is your reward. Sometimes you are greeted in return as a brother of sister in the Lord. Stop and think, what can I say to please Jesus. Don’t be ashamed to declare your love for Him. Don’t refrain from witnessing. Most of all, uplift God at every opportunity given. You never know when you are speaking with an angel of the Lord.

Living a Christian life, winning souls and properly serving God, are not of our hard work or ungodly fleshly deeds. All work for God is simply a living of the nine fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Galations 5:22) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Show your Godly nature as friendly, helpful and loving. Our lives are our works for the Lord. They will be judged.

Acts 27:35 “And when he (Paul) had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.”

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me...of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

Revelation 20:12 “...the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Philippians 4:8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;...think on these things.
Know God, know peace. Amen 03/26/21 BLL
