Ascend

Ascend

Revelation 17:8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”

It is interesting to note that the power applied in this ascent is not given. Only God is the propulsion power of movements of things in the spiritual realm. Satan has limited power of movement within the guidelines of God Almighty. “Soar” comes to mind when I imagine an apparent powerless movement of ascension or stable non-powered flight. Soar means to fly aloft or about. to sail or hover in the air, glide. to fly without an apparent means of locomotion and without loss of altitude. That seems to describe God’s means of ascension. He descended to earth as Jesus. He lets angels descend upon us as a blessing and comfort to His children. (John 1:51) “...Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” As His bride He no less blesses us even as He received nurturing from angelic presence. (Ephesians 4:8) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

This brings us to discuss our verse of the day.

17:8 The beast which thou sawest (see Rev 17:3) Also, read verses in Rev 17:8, 10, and 11. Satan's entire existence is expounded in three sectors. He was; he is not; Yet he is or will be again. Past present and future. After confinement, he will ascend out of the bottomless pit, (holding cell) and go into eternal damnation; hell. Consider his shape. The seven heads are seven hills and seven kings: Five are fallen; one is; the other has not come But, when he comes, he must continue a short length of time. Satan is the eighth head after the seven have risen, fallen and gone. The first of these three hills/heads is described in the thirteenth chapter of Revelations verse one. The second was then in its course; the third woe yet to come and is not. The woman seated herself upon him. Then, “he is not.” When he revives from the bottomless pit with diabolical strength and fury he has power for a short time. Soon after his ascent he is cast into perdition for ever. So will unrepentant souls pass after death.

From the foundation of the world” expression is to be discovered in Revelation 13:8. Their names were written in the book of life by God before the beginning of time.
Know God, know peace. Amen. 03/04/21 BLL
