TIME
TIME
An
old movie that made the circuit
of motion
picture establishments some years back was entitled “Before the
Beginning of time.” What is time that we humans are so mindful of
it? Having pondered the matter for
of
time, I
can
reach no definitive explanation. I know that in ‘our time,’ we
use the second, minute, hour, etc. to place our speck of life on the
timeline of Our Lord; who created it but is not subject to it. If
you are thinking” that’s not what the bible says,” you are
correct. So then, what sayeth the Word of God?
Genesis
chapter 1: 1
“In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth
was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face
of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was
light. 4 And God saw the light, that it
was
good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called
the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and
the morning were the first day.
Well!
It appears that when God created time, he broke it into two
measurements; day and night. Through the process of time, humans
further and gradually divided day and night into twenty-four segments
and named them hours. Desiring to further delineate the point upon
life’s estimated timeline showing how much had past, the present
location and that still to come. Developing habits demanded even
smaller measurements so we got the minute, the second that we
recognize today and the nanosecond which is seldom considered outside
the scientific realm. Light waves, created by God, moves at a speed
of about 367,000 miles in one second. Calculated and expressed in
distance, that equals about 18 inches; the distance time travels in a
nanosecond. Now! Knowing how and when the division of time came into
existence, what is time that we should be mind full of it.
Genesis
4:3 “And
in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of
the ground an offering unto the LORD.
- Genesis 18:14 “Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
- Genesis 29:7 “And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.”
- Genesis 47:29 “And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: ...”
Ecclesiastes Chapter 3: 1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to
pluck up that
which is
planted;
- Genesis 6:3 “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
- The human race progressed along toward God’s pronounced death through endless years because of Adam’s sin. The running of created time to it’s end allowed much transgression of the Love of God and the attachment gluing humans to the rule of Satan. God had stepped out of eternity and slowed its external running so as to have free will in a creation that would love Him. He marked its beginning on the concept and He placed a dot at its ending: end of time. To Human kind it represented thousand of years. To God only two specks that merged into a single blip in eternal life. Why are we mindful of that little blip? It appear much like the little dash between our birth and death on our grave stone. In it are all the choices we have made, are making and will make. God does not see them separate but as one event. The most important speck in our dash is the ‘time’ we accepted or refused God’s Love. We will never return to a speck gone by and change mistakes. Only God can do that. Get it right the first time. He has and will from ‘’time to time’ step out of eternity to interact with those who desire his presence. Time is ticking by faster than rocket headed for Mars. Know God, know peace. Amen. 03 dash 25 dash 2020 BLL
