Borrowed Time

BORROWED TIME
Oft’ have we heard the comment; “Living on borrowed time.” Such a statement is used to apply ones concerns that someone is sick unto death. How many of God’s people do we know who has and have been pronounced terminally ill and yet lived several more years. Some living today, are on such a pronouncement, yet they function in a semi-perfect manner. Prayers sent to Our Lord are always heard and stay even the hands of death. God has spoken one hundred twenty years as a deadline for life in earthlings; not that we are promised that time. There is another reference which states that humans whose life has passed the three score twenty (70) years every day there after should be counted as a special blessing. Each is a loving gift from God. Those of us seventy and older are living on borrowed time.
2 Kings Chapter 20: 1 “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.”
James 5:16 13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man available much.”
I know a person who lay dyeing many years ago. Elderly prayer warriors gathered at the bedside and prayed. Instantly the dying was made whole and is serving the Lord in a mighty way. Several times I have risen from the altar of prayer knowing God had heard but without conformation that He would deliver. Pray until you know and believe God is on it.
Revelation 11: And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Revelation 6: “I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

There are signs of the day spoken of by prophets as the end times. Even now the earth has a fever. It coughs and quivers. It spews forth its inner lave and it is overrun with pestilences, death and disease. The saints are being persecuted, maimed and slain. All are living on borrowed time. Know God, know peace. Amen. 03-28-2020 BLL
