Worthy

WORTHY

Through the Word of God can be discovered several statements of human worthiness concerning receiving the love and attention of God. Also, we find Spirit initiated statements of God’s worthiness to rule over his creation and certainly over we His children. There is a mighty difference in our worthiness and that worthiness of God. God is worthy because He has always been, is stationed in eternity and always will be in existence there. We, on the other hand was breathed into existence by Him and soon became unworthy of His loving attention. Then came Jesus who shed His Holy, everlasting Blood that we who would accept His sacrifice and its intent on the cross could be made worthy to receive forgiveness and the Grace of God. We know there are many enemies who would divert us from God back to Satan if it were possible. He is our remedy against the wiles of Satan.

Psalms 18:3 “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

Many accounts in the Word reveals that all who call upon the name of God; repenting and humble, shall receive His attention. John Baptist puts God’s level of interaction with us in perspective:

Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Recognition of our state of unworthiness, not by deed but by circumstances, earns Gods attention even if we are not yet His children.

Matthew 8:8 “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. Luke 7:7 “Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.”
Our undivided love and belief must be focused upon him in the manner of the centurion to open doors to God’s heart.
Matthew 10:37 “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Acts 13:46 “Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.”
We must abstain from sin and disrespect of God, as some will not, if we are to gain His promises. The Jews did not and God turned to we who were until then unworthy.
Matthew 10:38 “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. Romans 1:32 “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Not worthy)
There are requirements to worthiness before God. Among these:
Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Luke 3:8 “Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.” There none worthy but all children of God wears a worthy garment, the Shed Blood of Jesus.
Revelation 5:2 “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? (Revelation 5:4) “And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.” (Revelation 5:9) “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;” (Revelation 5:12) “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Revelation 16:6 “For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.” (Luke 21:36)Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Know God, know peace. Amen. 03-12-2020 BLL
