- Matthew 24: 35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

- A little church house perched precariously upon a knoll above the road way that meanders through a far away and silent valley, served as a preparatory sanctuary for its users as they watch the eastern sky. It had been so for a hundred years. Each generation was looking up for the coming back of the Lord. The running of life had prevented many of the viewing of His coming. The old church faded. It was restored. God’s people were dedicated to the maintenance of their watch tower. It kept them prepared and always looking up. They knew and believed God’s promises given them in the bible. Today it still stands waiting and its users keep a vigilant watch over it as they glance periodically toward the eastern sky. Scriptures kept them alert:
Revelation
1:8
- “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith
the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
1
Thessalonians 4:17
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead
in Christ shall rise first:”
There
can be no questioning of His credentials nor His Word.
Christ
said it, I believe it, that settles it!
Jesus
elaberated often to the desiples of His home town, heaven.
John 14: 2 “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
To
know Christ is to love God. He has a plan and, though most believe
according to the signs, it drawer nigh. He
did not leave us totally in the dark. He gave all the information ,
as Jesus, He possessed. He knew this old world could not continue
indefinitely suffering mans abuse. He spoke of what to look for and
expect that would be at the time of the ending of time. 1
Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Luke
21: 25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and
in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with
perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing
them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on
the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then
shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great
glory. 28 And
when these things begin to come to pass, then look
up,
and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth
nigh.”
Revelation
22:12-13
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give
every man according as his work shall be.
Matthew
24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of
heaven, but my Father only. Revelation
3:3 “Remember
therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and
repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a
thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Luke
21:36
“Watch
ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to
escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before
the Son of man.”
Look
up, the Lord is soon coming. According to the watch list given by
Jesus, our days are numbered. There will come bad times. Many will
suffer and die needlessly. All who do not repent will miss the first
rapture and will suffer many things. Know God, know peace. Amen
