Price of Betrail

PRICE OF BETRAYAL
JOB 20

3 “I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
4 Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.”

You have heard it said, “a Christians work is never done.” This is not a statement of little value. Even when we were people of the world walking in darkness, we were avoiding God’s call to work and burning His invested life uselessly. There will never come a time, as long as blood flows in our veins, that there will be no lost souls around us. There will always be the poor, downcast and suffering among us. Fellow children of God or souls remaining in darkness, they are part of our Christian duty. Our father has told us to minister and administer unto them as much as is possible. As obedient children of our Father, we obey.

Yet, there comes a time in every working Child of God when “wits end” has been reached toward resisting lost ones. Work, in this instance, can cease. Where refusal to receive offered light and everlasting life or deception in hypocritical acceptance, valuable time needs to be given to others open to the Word. How can we know when that level is reached? How do we know that, for earthly gain, we have been betrayed and God blasphemed? Turning to God’s Word we read:
Luke 6:43 “For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

In the Holy book it is written that once it has been revealed that work has been an act of futility concerning a lost soul, we are to dissociate our work and reapply it elsewhere. And, we are to have no further communications, fellowship or social activities with them. We are not to plant seed where fruit will not grow.

Matthew 7:6 “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Once we have applied the fire to the progress and all is devoured except evil or pretense, we are to reposition our efforts to the mass field of those in need or in darkness. We must not feel that we are forever indebted to a situation that has rejected good counsel. God’s word is true! “Forever, oh Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven.” (Ps. 119:89) Follow closely the Word. Amen Know God, know peace. 01-07-2020 BLL
