RENEW OLD ACQUAINTANCES

RENEW OLD ACQUAINTANCES

There is an exuberant recharging of life’s energy at the time of our spiritual birth. Someone led us to the place in life of our birth into the family of God. Most likely there were several of God’s children involved in our awakening into the newness of life. There had been gloom and despair before we eased into the light of God’s Grace. Others seemed to not share our feeling of disorientation. We craved the joy that unto that displayed I their walk. We were not happy. We hoped only to live a full life here on earth, die and be forgotten.

One day there came a knock on our hearts door and a voice sweet and tender announcing: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 We heard and understood the nature and source of those witnessing to us; walking Godly before us. With great enthusiasm, we fled from the old way into the newness of everlasting life. Death was pushed aside and worry faded. We accepted the call to repent and turn from our old self to one wearing a coat of many heavenly blessings. We rejoiced as we became a child of the King. We accepted the promise: And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.” 1 Kings 3:14

For a time there was Glory in our soul. Not able to contain the gift of eternal life, we shared it everywhere we went and especially those who we had accepted as siblings in Christ. We were dependent upon the sharing of the Holy Ghost for our continued spiritual east. We expected all who heard what we has received of God to switch and follow in life’s path to heaven. We began to wanner out on our own. We tried various methods to obtaining spiritual blessings through sharing God with a world that did not see the benefit of a promise of “pie in the sky, in the sweet by and bye.” Satan’s unrealistic promises to the world had darkened their sight; they could not see.
Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

There was born unto us a disappointment that led to a mediocre serving of God. Church after church failed to offer the spiritual food such as the old church had given. We became sedate Christians going with the flow toward our reward; disillusioned and dissatisfied. The shadow of darkness over came us. Our only satisfaction was in prayer and it was there that we learned the growth steps to a fruitful serving of our Lord.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.” John 12:35

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

“Like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Ephesians 2:10

We heard the answer to the renewing of old acquaintances: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.“
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,” Ephesians 4:1
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,” Ephesians 4:17
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:2

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” Philippians 3:17 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:4

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, ...” Revelation 16:15

We became mature Christians feeding on the meat of the gospel. No longer dazzled with the milk and honey of babes, we serve the Lord in honesty and in truth. Amen Know God, know peace. 01-08-2020 BLL
