Aantipation
ANTICIPATION
is
the feeling or inspiring optimistic hope about a future event.
Without
hope there falls upon the life involved a feeling of
full defeat.
The vilest and most ungodly
individuals experience periods of depression because some personal
enhancement hoped for in their life drifts away with a promise to
return again.
As
the time of the promised reappearance, confidence increases and the
sufferer becomes buoyant and sanguine. They are experiencing a very
optimistic
or positive hope, in an especially bad and difficult situation. The
promises of the non-Christian cannot be taken to the bank. They carry
the clause,” if nothing happens” or if
some
other mitigating
circumstances don’t Occur; they will. What
value is their hope?
Christians
have a great anticipation that Christ will soon return with their
reward. This deep hope is their stay inn stormy weather and in life
in general. Their hope is not in this world and they do not
anticipate great rewards from the Prince of Darkness.1
Corinthians 15:19 “If
in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable.” Our
hope is not in or of this world with all its distractions. Our hope
lies not only in what Christ does for us here and now but we
anticipate life eternal in another life after death, therein lies our
hope and joy. We
look to the resurrection as a mark for aiming. Knowing, factually,
that we , even if we are asleep on that day we will awaken to God’s
great promise to us. With impatience, we eagerly await, in hope, His
coming, Acts
24:15
“And
have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there
shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. We,
the just, hope and believe we will receive our reward because we are
given free access to the giver of life. Romans
5:2
“By
whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” We
have His word of promise but as yet we see no manifestation of its
arrival. Romans
8:25
“But
if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for
it.” Yes,
with great anticipation and hope we watch the eastern sky for His
soon coming. Galatians
5:5
“For
we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”
- Colossians 1:5 “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;” There can be no doubt in the truth of God’s Word and He is not slack on His promises. He is a keeper of things that were, are and are yet to come. Among those blessings held in store are those promised to His children. Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” our promise and hope. 1 Timothy 1:1 “… Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;”
- Titus 1:2 “... hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
- Titus 3:7 “That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Colossians 1:27 “...the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
- Hebrews 6:19 “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
- Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
- Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- 1 Peter 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” Amen. Know God, know peace.10-11-2020 BLL
