The Switch

THE SWITCH

Luke 11:8 5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity [impôrˈt(y)o͞onÉ™dÄ“: persistence, especially to the point of annoyance.] he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.” There are many interpretations of switch: There is the willow branch that stripes unruly children’s legs (well once did), I switch off my light, I switch from caffeinated coffee, switch bus, plane, or, train, switch professions or curriculum, switch way of life, etc.,etc. However the switch herein mentioned runs a much deeper course. God’s message to you, will though be made whole. Would you switch the old coat and put on the new one. If you have alreade adorned yourself in new clothes, are they washed pure and white in the shed blood of Christ. Has a spot of spilled faith or sin left a stain here and there. The Holy Spirit stands at the ready to bleach away, in the power of God, any transgressions hiding within the stain. Still deeper runs the switch of God’s planned creation. Giving humans freedom to make choices in their life took some control from the hand of God. Add Satan to the plan and switch in human behavior brings death and destruction that reaches far beyond our understanding. It began in Eden. Eve met Satan who enticed her. Genesis 3: 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.” The word not switched the course of God’s plan (history). The credit lays heavy on the shoulders of Adam. It was Adam who God gave directive and Adam failed to drill into Eve the necessity of obedience to God’s word.

There was peace in the garden kindled by God’s great love. Adam changed peace for turmoil when he chose Satan as ruler and gave up life, Gog and tranquility. Then, Cain topped the sin of rebellion with killing. Death came by Adam, Cain was the first to switch life to death. He slew Able (his brother) when there was Peace in the world, now look what a switch. God walked away. No doubt, if He could cry, a tear rolled down His face. His beloved creation had switched from good to evil.

Humankind switched to an ever descending state of corruption. Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
God switched His plan when He remembered Noah and his family. We have the story of the ark, flood, new beginning and potential for a change. Genesis 6: 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. 15 And God spake unto Noah, saying, 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee. 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.”
All depended upon how much the seven survivors loved God and worked His will. But, nothing had switched from the evil design of Satan. He rode out the flood atop the ark when it landed on Ararat. He worked the vineyard with the laborers and He became their adviser.
Evil once again began to overtake the thoughts of those growing from the loins of the flood survivors. The switch was gradual but almost complete. There was one who walked with God; Abram, whom God sir named Abraham. Through a covenant with Abraham, God switched from suffering with the entire population of the world by selecting Him A family to multiply and follow Him. There were problems. Always they were settled by the descendants of Abraham: Isaac, Jacob called Israel and the twelve sons (tribes) of Israel. God nurtured these His chosen ones while those living the life of evil switched not away from Lucifer.
Genesis 17:5 “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. Genesis 17:9 “And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
Time passes and change began to disturb God’s people. Israels youngest son Joseph was deviously confined in Egypt according to God’s Plan. God sheltered them there for four hundred years. Then arrived the time and preparation of Moses through him God rescued His children and set them on a course to the promised land. Many “switches of mind” of Pharaoh in letting Israel leave Egypt finally terminated in His total destruction. Genesis 6: 27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.”
In due time and through many switches in plans and leadership. Joshua led God’s chosen ones into the land promised to Abraham; father of them all.
Gradually the Mosaic law switched to man made directives which switched the thinking of some Jews who was looking for a prophesied of in times of old. He would come and deliver them fro the entirety of Rome. When Jesus came they did not switch but rather denied Him and rejected Him. Thus He switched to the Gentiles (us) to accept all who would come unto Him to come. The mark of the new covenant was his death, burial and resurrection as atonement for Adams sin and human kind’s adherence to that sin. He shed his sacrificial blood on the cross at Calvary as a final blood sacrifice for sin forever. He became our high priest and advocate. He ascended back to heaven leaving us to teach those on earth to switch from evil to good. This we must do. Know God,know peace. Amen. 01-30-2020 BLL
