Why Pray

WHY PRAY

There are many reports in God’s Word proving the effectiveness of prayer. Prayer is commanded of God who Himself pleaded with the Holy Spirit and Christ concerning developing another way to complete His mission on the cross. God’s plan never changes but often the means to it does. Jesus knew. He submitted to pray and accepted God’s will. Crucifixion, death, burred and resurrection was promised and God cannot lie.
39 And he ( Jesus) came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Acts 34:4 “And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. 5Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”
They Prayed as a force of brothers and sisters in the Lord and God heard and answered their prayers. When trouble comes that seems beyond mortal intervention, pray! There is nothing our Heavenly Father cannot doif we ask believing and properly in His will. Remember, he raised Lazarus as well as himself from the bonds of death. He died and arose so we who believe His words may likewise have eternal life. Whatever God does, He does to the fulfillment of His plan which they formulated before the beginning of time. If it seems to differ from His Word, it is because of our lack of understanding.

Isaiah 38: 1 “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 2Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 5Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days add fifteen years.”

Often we pray and feel the words bouncing back from the ceiling. The fix: Seek fiirst the Holy Spirit’s help in interpreting our words unto Our Father.
Romans 8:26 ”Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Pray always for ever event and cease not to pray. Prayer is always on my heart and spoken often.
1 Samuel 12:23 “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you:” Know God, know peace. Amen. 01-26-2020 BLL
