I Go Fishing

I GO FISHING

God’s requirements and commandments are not kept from His servants. Nor are they frivolously issued. When he expected a certain action from his disciples, He clearly stated what they were to do. Be find an incident in the Word Book of a post resurrection order that went haywire. On one occasion, Our Lord told the disciples the work they were to do. “The apostles met together at Jerusalem; Christ having ordered them not to depart thence, but to wait for the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. This would be a baptism by the Holy Ghost, giving them power to work miracles, and enlightening and sanctifying their souls.”
In the graveyard where Mary confronted the newly arisen Christ, she fell at his feet to worship Him. He sent a message by her to the disciples that they were to wait in Jerusalem for His appearance.
John 20:17 “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. 18 “Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.” The disciples did as instructed but after a few days Peter began to become restless, annoyed and impatient. It had been several days and Christ had not materialized unto them. Peter was a man of action and waiting was not his forte. His mind turned to what he knew best and he claimed its image. John 21:2 “There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. 3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
It is a dangerous thing to go your own way against Christs commandments. Peter, in essence and fact, switched back to his OLD Man. He went back to the way he lived before He promised his life to Jesus. Not only that, he caused others to revert to their old way of living. The act of self-will proved a failure. Fishing all night they caught nothing. Jesus went to where they floated an empty boat. John Chapter 21:1 “After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.” His chastisement was limited to causing them to acknowledge their sin and humble themselves once more at Christs feet. When we find ourselves pressing on in our own way, tired of waiting upon the Lord, prayer and repentance in absolutely necessary. Galatians 5:5 “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” Our victory in Christ thrives on patience. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:26. And Dr, Luke reminds that Christ will apper when we dont expect Him. Jesus spoke of us in waiting to be like the wise virgins with oil in their lamps.
Luke 12:36 “And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.” In wisdom we are patient through faith in our Lord. If He said it then it is sealed. Ephesians 1:17 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Ephesians 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: Jude 1:21 “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” That certainly is a worthy wait. Know God, know peace. Amen. 01-22-2020 BLL

  1. With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of
plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I've either
written myself or outsourced but it seems
a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any methods to help
reduce content from being ripped off? I'd genuinely appreciate it.
