Short

Short

Life is short. Unlike during the days of old before God set limits on life, normal life spans are shorter and complicated. Medical science has moved life expectancy upward. By age seventy or so people begin to refer to themselves as old. The burdens of life has, by that time, wrinkled and abated them considerably. There is no reason to assure oneself that any will attain that age or leave earthly life any earlier. (Ecclesiastes 9:12) “For man also knoweth not his time:...” (James 4:14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Most folks live in the day under the knowledge that it is the day the Lord gave and they value the time. It is today that we are living. Not in the past or the future. Life wills, for whatever reason, our having, loosing, taking and giving. There is a time for all things under the sun. Maybe, yesterday a cloud of trouble fell across our way. Today is a brand new day. Yesterday is gone but the trouble may stay another day. Live the business of today with a song on your lips and in your heart. Eventually all clouds of rain pass away. Seize the moments of gladness and lock them away. Save them for a rainy day. (Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Life is very short but God allowed us time to do two very important changes. One, change from evil ways to God with all His promises. Two, glorify God in all things; win souls to Christ. Colossians 4:5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” We make life complicated. We live, we do, then we die. It is the “how” of it all that makes all the difference in eternity.

1 Timothy 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” (Romans 13:11) “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Romans 5:6 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Know God, know peace. Amen. 06/09/21 BLL
