The Journey
The Journey
From birth to death life is a journey. There are uphill and downgrades, we walk. Most often we are on a level plane. Troubles greet us unexpectedly; reactions vary. Some folks internalize the sorrow, grief, or pain and mourn silently. Some extrapolate and cope through catharsis. Others strike out in anger and disregard for the feelings of others. Most often the angry are careful what they say to strangers. They have fake smiles for their infrequent guests. But facing their own, they have a bitter tone and often false accusations. For those they love, there’s a bitter tone. A frown, a curse, and a striking out at loved ones which yields a bitter cup. They love their own the best. Yet, lips curl in indignation. A brow snarled into a look of scorn adorns their features. They journey through thoughts of anger and defeat. Turning not to God, they vent upon those they love. Words are spoken that render hearts broken. It would be a cruel fate if night appeared too late to retract the words of the morning.
Let your journey be one of love and in keeping with God’s word. Your pillow will be softer, dryer and sleep come gently. Jesus spoke to his disciples concerning how to pray. Then he gave them a parable concerning attitude toward friends.
Luke 11:6 “And He said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; (7) And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.”
Jeremiah 10:19 “Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.”
1 Peter 2:19 19. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”
Job 14:1 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.”
Galatians 5:15 “But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”
Galatians 5:26 “Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another,...”
Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,...”
Micah 7:6 “For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. (Luke 12:53) “The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
So walk your journey in a manner finding night with a clear sky and a satisfied mind. Know God, know peace. Amen. 06/02/21 BLL
